Audio Girl Africa Launches First Ever ProducHER Series Bootcamp in Nigeria

This March, Audio Girl Africa is launching her flagship Songwriting and Recording Bootcamp tagged ProducHER Series in Lagos, Nigeria.

The recording and writing bootcamp series aims to foster collaboration amongst female creatives across the music industry sector to create a music project together (a single/EP) each session will showcase the contribution of the selected female creatives working behind the scenes.

The ProducHER series has been facilitated through the generous support of Warner Music Group and the Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund’s SJF Repertoire and the bootcamp aims to bring together female recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixing engineers, music executives, and industry professionals. Together, they will collaborate in a supportive environment to create and showcase their work within the music industry. Read more here

The ProducHER Series camp will commence from the 11th of March to the 15th of March 2024 following the celebration of International women’s day #CountHerIn which attest to the foundation’s overall goal for the camp and beyond: investing in women in music production and audio technology whilst celebrating and showcasing their work.    

 Call For Submissions

Audio Girl Africa is also extending an invitation to emerging and independent female producers, songwriters and artists to participate in this exciting opportunity to collaborate with other top creatives in the bootcamp. 

The call for applications is now open from now to Monday, March 4th, 2024.

Criteria and application form are available below. 

Applications will be reviewed by the Audio Girl team. Successful applicants will be contacted by 8th of March via email.

Applicants chosen for this training will have the opportunity to collaborate and understudy with some of the best creatives in the industry.

 

Application Process

Requirements

The following requirements are very important in ensuring your application goes through. Ensure you meet all of these requirements before you apply.

  • Be either a songwriter, music producer, or engineer.
  • Be willing to share A valid link to a work sample or portfolio
  • Must be a member of the Audio Girl Community
  • Must reside in Lagos and be able to attend the bootcamp from Mar 11th – 15th
  • You must be between ages 18 -30 and identify as a woman of African descent.
  • Be able to commit your time, physically for the entire period of the bootcamp (MANDATORY)

11th-15th March, 2023.

If selected, you would be expected to be available for the entire duration of the training program.



Training Duration

Only 8 successful applicants will be selected to join this series. Please ensure to put your best foot forward for this application.

Application Timeline

  • Applicants must submit their applications on or before 5th of March, 2023.
  • Selection period will be between 5th – 7th March, 2023.
  • Successful applicants will be notified with the next steps on or before 8th March. Due to expected high volume of applications we won’t be reaching out to unsuccessful applicants at this time, so if you don’t hear from us, be on the lookout for the next one as you will be added automatically to the waitlist.
  • Successful applicants will be contacted with next steps on 8th March, 2023.
  • Bootcamp begins on 11th-15th March, 2023.

FAQs

What if I don't have up to 1year of professional experience?

You can still apply. Provided you can show us a link to work you’ve done or participated on. Be it a demo, cover of a song, beat you made, song you produced or recorded, or even a proof of studio internship. This will go a long way in helping your application.

Can I attend if I'm not a Lagos Resident?

No, This is only open to female creatives residing in Lagos. Please be on the lookout for our upcoming programs in a city near you. 

Can I attend remotely, if I'm not in Lagos?

Unfortunately, No. This is a physical bootcamp, so you are expected to attend the training physically and be available for the entire duration of the program if selected. Therefore, you must be residing in Lagos, Nigeria.

Will there be accommodation for participants?

No, there is no provision for accommodation or travel bursary for this bootcamp. Successful participants will be responsible for their own logistics.

Can I still apply after the deadline?

Please ensure to apply before the announced deadline, This Tuesday, 5th of March, 2023. So you don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Is this open to male applicants?

Unfortunately, NO. However some of our virtual programs are open to all, Kindly be on the lookout for those instead.
